I was checking on the progress of patches I pushed out and found something I'd never seen before. I tried looking for info about it on LANDesk.com, and I even Googled it but found nothing. So does anyone know what this icon means and why its showing up on the Security and Patch Information screen.
We are a PCI compliant company. We have upgraded to LDMS 9.6 SP2. We just ran a PCI scan against one of our workstations with the new client on it and it failed because the certificate used my the HTML5 Remote on 4343 is 1024 and it needs to be 2048 to Pass a PCI audit. Is there already a patch for this that i'm missing or is this being addressed?
Use of TLS 1.0 is also an issue for PCI Compliance
P.S I know I can disable HTML5 and push an agent update. But I actually want to be able to use the HTML5 Remote.
Description: Microsoft has an older utility called Windiff.exe that can be used to perform a detailed comparison of a file or the contents of a directory. This can be handy if you need to see if a file is damaged or perhaps directories contain different files than what the date and size show (which can be inaccurate). See screen shot below. The utility can take a while to complete if comparing a large directory.

Iam trying to install Landesk 9.6
I work for the US Government and install fails with the above error.
Can I disable FIPS to install and then re-enable the group policy setting after installing?
How can any government agency server run LANDESK if it requires FIPS mode to be disabled -- It is mandatory per FISMA . It would seem like the server is built on a non FIPS compliant encryption or hashing algorithm.. possibly MD5?

I'm not sure what caused my issue, but I'm unable to PXE Boot from UEFI (this worked in the past)
Running 9.6 SP1
I have tried re-deploying my PXE rep with no luck
The issue may have started when we patched to SP1 or possibly after adding a driver to the WinPE image... Did this via the "Preboot" menu in the console (Although the error does not seem related to boot_x64.wim)
Unfortunately our techs just switched to legacy as a workaround so I don't know when the issues surfaced.
This pops up very briefly on the client:

I have confirmed the existence of the file on the server in the following path.

Tried dropping the firewall on the Server, Rebooting and yelling "Work darn you!"
Has anybody encountered this before or know what logs might help me come to a solution?

So we are running LanDesk Management Console 9.5 but Data Analytics 9.6
Everytime our tech's try to asset an archive to the asset control we get the following error.
Could not delete device The DELETE Statement conflicted with the REFERENCE constraint "R_LDAPUserAttr". The conflict occured in database "ulddb", table "dbo.LDABUserAttr", column Computer_ldn
The statement has been terminated at System.Data.SQLClient.SqlConnection.OnError(SQLException)
I have tried rebooting the system to see if that helped but still no go.
Any ideas?
If you are installing a fresh v9.6 console and then the SP2 patch you require Microsoft.NET 4.5 to be installed first. If you do not when you run setup.exe for SP2 you will receive an error as shown below
There is a note in the SP2 readme about this.
Important Note: LDMS 9.6 SP2 update requires Microsoft.NET 4.5 be installed on any Remote Consoles prior to installing the patch. Patch Manager can be used to update machines with .NET 4.5
If you are already have a console installed with v9.6 SP1 then you can install SP2 as SP1 added Microsoft.NET 4.5 to your PC.

I'm looking for a way to build a removal package to uninstall the toolbars that get installed via the Internet. You Video Chat, Yahoo, Ask, etc.
Under SW Licensing Monitoring, are SW License entries automatically created when an item is discovered? I have over 1,200 licenses listed, but I personally have only created 50.
My immediate need is to export data from my console. Really which there was a copy and paste to table or csv function.
Outside of that functionality i want to export my computers and the current installed agent configuration name. i found the tables in sql, but dont see a table that links the 2 together.
any luck from anyone else doing this?

I have received new licenses. I have two core servers, each in its own domain. I have enough licenses for both of the core servers. I can activate both core servers, but only one acccepts the license. What is going wrong here?
Will LD upgrade the OpenSLL components in the management suite ? (We're still at 95 SP3).

I try to join the domain in my OS provisioning task but it fails with -2147477501. I've read EVERY post here, tried to save the OU to join in a variable but no luck. Tried to pre-create the computer-object, no luck. This is the error message in JoinDomainHandler.log:
Joining Domain DOMAIN.COM and OU OU=Whatever.DC=DOMAIN,DC=COM
NetJoinDomain() unknown error: 64

I'm fairly new to LANDESK working as a backup, and while the primary admin is out we want to update the RC settings for some users so they have to approve the connection.
I created the settings under Agent Settings \ Remote control, clicked the create a task button, choose change settings. The task is created and scheduled to run immediately. I've added test PC's to it and started it but every PC I try to run this on comes back with 1354. Ive tried changing the task type, (Policy supported push, policy, & push) and get the same results.
Run a full inventory and policy sync on the test machines and still a no go. Any help or suggestions would be appreciated.
We recently published LANDesk Management Console 9.6 on our Xenapp 6.5 farm.
The Server is running Win 2008 R2 X64.
The issue we are seeing is that when we launch the management console the login screen flashes then disappears.
I look at the Citrix Receiver Connection Center, and it shows it is connected to the Server that the LANDesk management console is installed on.
I also look at the Server, and in task manager I see it started the console.exe being the process is running. It can take multiple attempts to finally get the login screen to come up.
Has anyone seen this?

Any idea why windows defender is staying active on systems after installing LANDesk client v9.6 SP1 w/ AV? I don't see any options in the agent config to remove or disable existing AV like in older versions so I assume it is automatic in this version? Thanks!
Sorry if this is the wrong place but I'm having an issue getting started with LANDESK.
We downloaded and setup LANDESK 9.6 and installed it on a new server. The installation went well and I rebooted as prompted.
Next, the activation wizard started up. I chose the trial option and after about 10-15 seconds I get a popup saying:
"The activation file at this location appears to be invalid: C:\Program Files\LANDesk\Authorization Files\enu-activate-2015-06-18-21-17-25.txt".
I've tried several times and it fails every time. The server is able to access the internet, so it doesn't seem to be a connectivity error. The only troubleshooting documents I could find with that error are from 2013 (Activation of LANDesk 9.0 SP1 failing : authorization file is invalid) and that didn't help.
Any ideas?

Occasionally, we have users who work remotely using a VPN connection, and they need help. However, the client in LANDesk is displaying an IP to the computer when it was in the office.
I'd like to be able to invoke a sync scan as part of the script vpn connection, so that if they do need help, Landesk is reporting their correct VPN IP and not the one they had when they were in the office.
Is there a way to do this? Thanks for your time.
